HOLMDEL/COLTS NECK, N.J. - The lives lost on 9/11 represent all of us. They lived in the community - our community. You may have known them from the sports fields or houses of worship. You shopped with them and saw each other in the post office or local library. They were with you, near you and among you. Perhaps it was a party. A pep rally. A restaurant. For others it was deeper, they were also neighbors and personal friends. You grew up together or lived nearby. You connected in some way.
For the families, it was and is deepest. It was home and it was as close as love can be. They were moms and dads, sisters and brothers, sons and daughters, aunts and uncles, grandmoms and granddads and other, similar close knit ties that had a daily rhythm and comfort. They had plans, their family journey and all the expectations that one builds for themselves and those they love.
On September 11th, 2001, this changed in front of our eyes. A terrorist act of cowardice and murder stole our neighbors, our friends and for so many people, a beloved family member.
Each year, Colts Neck and Holmdel and other cities across the State of New Jersey and the USA pay homage to the life and spirit of the lives taken from us that horrific day. How appropriate that they are remembered and TAPinto Holmdel and Colts Neck honors that memory by providing special web links that have been developed in prior years. Clicking on and looking at these links can help connect you or others you feel would want to connect with the life and story of the lives taken from us on that day.
