Andrij "Dee" Rudko 45, of Colts Neck passed away unexpectedly, Thursday August 6, 2020. Dee was born and raised in Connecticut, before moving to New Jersey, after meeting and marrying the love of his life Sunny.
Dee attended Ukrainian school in Hartford, CT and was a Ukrainian Scout in Plast. He was a proud graduate of Hyde School in Bath, ME.
Dee had an incredible drive in everything he did. He was a successful entrepreneur, starting many IT companies. He was always ready to lend a hand, whether it was a friend that needed help, or a board that needed him, "No" was not in Dee's vocabulary.
Dee volunteered his time to many organizations, Monmouth County Board of Addictions Services, Hackensack Meridian of Holmdel, Boy Scouts of America Monmouth Council, Kiwanis of Marlboro and Ukrainian American Veterans, just to name a few.
Dee and Sunny had an instant connection. They knew at first sight it was meant to be. Family and tradition were very important to both of them. It didn't take them long to get started on their own family.
Santino Peter was born May 2006. Dee and Santino shared an amazing bond. They both have a very similar mind. They loved spending time together talking about cars, guns, and music. Sunny would find Dee and Santino tinkering at his work bench at all hours of the night.
Deeko was born December 2008. He was always so proud of his Tato and looked forward to growing up to be just like him! They shared many similarities, they both kept their rooms neat and tidy, and their appearance was of the utmost importance to them both. Deeko loved staying up late playing Forza Motorsport 7 with his Tato.
Domenica, Tato's princess, completed the family in August of 2011. Dee's face lit up every time he looked at his Domenica. Each morning started with Dee snuggling with Domenica, it was their "Tato snuggle time". Domenica had her Tato wrapped around her little finger. No matter what Domenica asked her Tato for the answer was always, "yes".
Despite being the sole provider for his family and involved in numerous organizations, Dee always found time for each of his children. He never missed a boy scouts meeting, track meet, basketball game, parent/teacher conference, father/daughter dance, birthday party, and helping the kids practice their dives in the pool. He especially enjoyed going to the movies with his kids and their friends. Dee always looked forward to going into his children's school on their birthdays to read a book to the class.
Dee's and Sunny's lives were devoted to their children, but they still liked some alone time. They enjoyed spending time down the shore and upstate on the river. Dee and Sunny liked going out for an early dinner and cocktails, loved binge watching a good series and spending time in their hot tub while Dee enjoyed a nice Cuban cigar. They loved to travel, Siesta Key was one of Dee's favorite places to go.
If/when Dee was able to find a moment to himself he enjoyed many things in life. Dee loved spending time shooting, fishing, working in his yard, and talking. He loved to share his knowledge of all things with friends and family. He was very proud of his Ukrainian heritage and loved passing all of his traditions onto his children. Dee loved lending a helping hand to all, he had "a guy" for everything.
Dee was one of a kind and will forever be missed by all that loved him.
He was pre-deceased by grandparents Peter and Anna Rudko and grandparents Anton and Nadia Horak and his In-Laws Anthony and Brenda Ricci.
