Miranella Hilal of Colts Neck Brought a Frutta Bowl Platter to A Luncheon at a Friends Home.

COLTS NECK, N.J. - It was a moment many had been waiting for recently when the new owners of Frutta Bowls, the Garland family, along with Colts Neck Mayor Macnow, Committeeman Rizzuto and others joined a large gathering of food fans to cut the official red ribbon.  'Voila', just like that, a new hot spot was born. The new location is a unique place to gather and relax with patrons enjoying delicious, different and healthy foods in a bowl.

It all started with a berry. A delicious, super nutritious, acai berry.

When the founder of Frutta Bowls ( Brooke Gagliano first tried an acai berry, she was hooked. That berry became the genesis for what is now one of the fastest growing bowl food franchises, with about 70 locations sold and in various stages of contract and development and another 30 in discussion.

"I would like to say from myself and Frutta Bowls corporate that we are so lucky and grateful to have frachisees like Kristine and Ray. They are both amazing people that are always so happy and positive. Who love to create a relationship with each and every customer ensuring that they have a great experience." Said Gagliano

For many customers they refer to Frutta Bowls as their healthy addiction.  Colts Neck resident Miranella Hilal says, "I am absolutely addicted. I think I've been in Frutta Bowls every day since they opened. I'm a healthfood person and it's not always easy because I'm a foodie too. Frutta Bowls is healthy, delicious and satisfying. Today I picked up one of their party platters for a luncheon and it was a hit! All the ladies loved it and it was guilt free!"

Let the latest Colts Neck business ribbon cutting begin:

The Garland family is the owner of the new location which encompasses the Colts Neck and Holmdel area. Kristine Garland shared the background story:

"My husband and I have recently bought into a franchise called Frutta Bowls, located in Colts Neck.   My husband is a Police Sergeant with the Port Authority  of New York and New Jersey and is currently assigned to the Holland Tunnel, NYC.  He has been on the Police force for 25 years.   After a very successful career, my husband has decided to retire and always dreamed of starting a family business.  My background includes being a Sales Specialist for LBrands at Victoria Secret for 20 years, which afforded me time  to raise  my family.   While researching business opportunities, close friends of ours started a healthy food, casual eatery  in Howell which became an overnight sensation in Monmouth County.  So successful in fact, they decided to franchise and we thought it was a great idea for the Colts Neck area.  Our menu consists of healthy food options that include, fresh fruit, acais berries, pitaya , kale, smoothies and oatmeal bowls.  We cater events, parties, business lunches etc." She said.

"We thought it would be a great addition to the beautiful Colts Neck area as it is family oriented and there is something for everyone.  We have a beautiful lounge area and free WIFI as well as small seating ottomans for small children and a television for them as well.  The music is fun and the atmosphere is warm and friendly.  Our staff is comprised by many of the local Colts Neck High School students, which my daughter attends as well.  Our business is managed by the family, our two sons, Raymond 22, and  Joseph 20, supervise the staff and our daughter Gianna 15, assists in the training and operations as well.   My sister Karen has temporarily relocated from Florida to help with the start up of our business."

Kristine has hit the ground running by attending numerous local events including business organizations such as the Holmdel Chamber of Commerce. Garland families franchise location covers the Cols Neck and Holmdel area.

"I have met many wonderful business contacts at the Holmdel Chamber of Commerce ( which have helped promote my new business in Colts Neck. The opportunity for networking at this event was tremendous"

"This business is a dream come true for us and we are so excited that our family is working so hard together in this successful venture." said Garland.
