WESTMINSTER, COLORADO: A native of Colts Neck and her children were attacked in a road rage shooting on June 14 that left her 13 year old son dead and both her and another child injured. A third child was able to run to safety.

Jeremy Webster, 23,  was charged with first degree murder, extreme indifference; three counts of attempted first-degree murder; three counts of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon; five counts of violent crime causing serious bodily injury; four counts of violent crime causing death or serious injury and three other violent crimes, by the Adams County District Attorney’s office.

According to police, Webster shot 41-year-old Colts Neck native Meghan Bigelow and her two sons at a Westminster office park in a road rage incident. Webster allegedly followed Bigelow to the dentist office she was visiting then shot the three when they got out of their vehicle.

Vaughn Bigelow, 13, died in the shooting. A third son of Bigelow’s was not injured. After Webster allegedly shot the three, he turned toward another man who was in his truck nearby with his daughter and shot him too. He was able to escape.

In a statement, the family said it will need help going forward and that it is "fortunate to have such a caring greater community."

"The Bigelow Family is thankful for the outpouring of support from the community and many circles of their lives," the family said.

It has established a web page through CaringBridge where people can read updates regarding Meghan and Asa here:  https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/bigelowfamilyupdates

The Bigelows also suggested people looking for ways to help to donate blood.

"Blood donations and incredible trauma doctors and staff saved Asa and Meghan’s lives. The family asks that you consider donating blood in memorial of Vaughn Bigelow Jr.," the Bigelows said.

The family suggested donating through Bonfils or Children's Hospital of Colorado. Read more here: https://www.denverpost.com/2018/06/15/westminster-shooting-suspect-arrested/
