COLTS NECK, NJ - This is a very busy group of local residents. Recently, the Colts Neck Seniors at the New York Botanical Gardens Holiday Show. What a show it was.
For some people, being amongst the magnificent flowers at a botanical garden is like “a little piece of heaven”. Well, add to that the special holiday display at the New York Botanical Gardens and there is such joy!
On Tuesday, November 27, a group of Colts Neck Seniors experienced this pleasure. There was a guided tour of the Holiday Train Show, which beautifully portrayed model trains zipping through a display of more than 150 NYC landmarks, concentrating on lower Manhattan. There were iconic skyscrapers, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, Staten Island ferry boats and so many more beauties.
Each scene was cleverly orchestrated using bark, leaves and other natural materials – so artistic and ecology conscious! After enjoying the holiday show, the group had a terrific guided tour of this world renown Botanical Garden on the tram. It was a very special day for flower lovers!
After this memorable experience, the group boarded their bus to go to Mario’s restaurant to enjoy delicious entrees, like veal parmigiana, chicken francese and filet of fish scampi style.
The whole day was a wonderful way to get in the mood for the upcoming holidays!
