Colts Neck Senior Citizens Enjoy Another Trip
September 12 was a full day for a group of Colts Neck Senior Citizens! First we visited the Thomas Edison West Orange Laboratory, which “gave birth” to the motion picture camera. Other accomplishments of this lab are: the improvement of phonographs, silent and sound movies and the nickel-iron alkaline battery. It was indeed an educational journey.
Another interesting tour was of the Eagle Rock Reservation and Observatory, which was designed by the masterminds behind Central Park – the Olmsted brothers. We were treated to a spectacular view of the NY skyline, from the George Washington Bridge to the Verrazano Narrows – a sight to behold!
After these two wonderful tours, the “grand finale” was a delectable traditional Portuguese 3-course meal at Don Pepe restaurant in Newark. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and no one left there hungry.
Colts Neck residents, age 55 and over are welcomed to join this “busy group”. Call President, Jack Coppola at 732-933-0720 for further information.
