MONMOUTH COUNTY: Wednesday, July 18, marked an exciting day across the country for Comfort Keepers locations as they celebrated 20 years of care. Comfort Keepers is an in home senior care company. At the Comfort Keepers Shrewsbury location, 697 Broad Street, a festive open house carnival was held from 1p.m.-5p.m. to celebrate 20 years of caring. Guests were treated to the works! The front porch offered an old fashioned popcorn machine, fresh made lemonade, cracker jacks, cotton candy and giveaways galore! That's not all folks--inside the location, guests were treated to sandwiches, specialty pretzel wrapped hot dogs, a beautiful cake, and cool refreshments. If that wasn't enough an ice-cream truck was parked outside as guests left they could choose from a great variety of frozen treats for all!
Families stopped in from all over Monmouth County and many were greeted by Diego, the friendly Canine Ambassador from Caregiver Canines. Caregiver Canines is a national volunteer organization that has recently partnered with Comfort Keepers of Central New Jersey, to further enhance the care of Comfort Keepers clients should they choose to experience pet therapy. According to a joint press release issued June 15, from Comfort Keepers of Shrewsbury and Caregiver Canines, "Therapy dog visits help improve the overall well being of seniors by decreasing loneliness and isolation." Diego seemed to be enjoying the new partnership as he posed near the Comfort Keepers sign and socialized with all the guests.
Comfort Keepers Shrewsbury location owner Jim Winn commented, "Today was a wonderful celebration honoring 20 years of care for Comfort Keepers. It's an honor to offer care services to our clients. Just like our name says, Comfort Keepers is all about keeping our clients and their families who love them as comfortable as possible. The new business relationship wth Caregiver Canines provides us with another comfort option for the families we care for."
