HOLMDEL, N.J. - On Saturday July 8, four Holmdel students competed in the New Jersey Professional Horseman Association’s (NJPHA) Double Point Show. Isabella David riding Wellspring’s Rox Star, Alexa LaRosa riding Illusion, Amanda Bossert on Beach Bum and Shayna Rosenstrach on Roosevelt. The horseshow took place at Duncraven Stables in Titusville, New Jersey. These Holmdel students competed against kids from throughout the Tri-State area, highlighting their skills and abilities in flatting and jumping courses. This show was in preparation for their upcoming trip to Saugerties, NY where they will compete in the HITS show - http://www.hitsshows.com, and hopeful for the Marshall and Sterling Finale, that is a qualifying National Show.
Throughout the school year, these Holmdel girls train year round, often in the rain or snow, at Baymar Farms in Marlboro NJ. They maintain the responsibilities of giving their horses daily exercise, caring for them, bathing, and contribute to training and educating the horses. Most impressive about participating in this sport are the challenges and opportunities of partnering with a living and majestic animal. There is a partnership whereby horse and rider must have a relationship, trust and confidence in each other and a strong commitment. These Holmdel girls demonstrate excellent sportsmanship, graciously support each other and celebrate each other’s successes.
