Gopal Candidate Statement

Ocean Township -  The Asbury Park Press published a story detailing the suit filed claiming gender wage discrimination among Monmouth Parks workers. Vin Gopal, Democratic candidate for State Senate, expressed his strong support for the suit and urged the importance of equal pay legislation.

“The gender wage in New Jersey is real and it is hurting New Jersey women and their families,” said Gopal. “I am proud to stand with Laura Lieneck and Robin Ostrowski as they try to shine light on this discrimination and ensure they are paid what they are owed.”

It is unfair that both Laura and Robin were forced to take legal action to try and rectify this situation. Women deserve to earn the same amount as their male counterparts and they shouldn't have to go to court to secure it.
