He was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought us peace was upon Him. And by His Wounds we are healed. ISAIAH. 53:5

HOLMDEL, NJ - Millions of Christians all over the world celebrated Easter Sunday yesterday, the resurrection of Jesus Christ after His barbaric crucifixion.  Good Friday, a day of great reflection in the Christian faith is on the Friday before Easter Sunday, and sets the stage for the miracle of the Resurrection.

On Good Friday, the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ is commemorated in the Christian Church. It is traditionally a solemn day of penance and fasting. One of the ways within which the path to crucifixion is made vivid to believers is through the 15 Stations of the Cross.

The Stations of the Cross detail the journey of Jesus as he is crucified at Calvary. The profound impact of these historical events is captured each year by the St. Catharine's Youth Group during their annual program - Living Stations of the Cross. Local Christian young adults share the story of the Stations of the Cross in various roles. It began on Friday evening at 7:30 with a darkened church. The narrator and singer set the tone for the evening and you can experience a sample here in pictures and video:

The teens performed all of the 15 Stations of the Cross With narration and singing in-between each station. In its own way it was an Easter retreat for the families who attended on Good Friday evening. It was a holy event. Most of those same teens and families celebrated Easter Sunday Mass at St. Catharine's, the alter now looking very different, brightly lit and full of flowers with the resurrected Christ on the cross with His hands extended to the congregation. Hallelujah! He is Risen!
