HOLMDEL, NJ:   There’s a unique shopping experience in Holmdel—and it’s Stephanie Gilman Phillips’ Chic Boutique! An internet based business started by Phillips nearly three years ago, Chic Boutique is available to browse 24/7 on Facebook, where shoppers can view the online catalog of fashionable clothing and accessories, personally sourced by Phillips. In addition, lucky local shoppers can call Phillips to schedule a shopping appointment or attend an open house.  Phillips hosts shopping experiences in her Holmdel home, where she temporarily transforms her first floor living area into a combination of a fashion boutique and a ladies social luncheon!  If you attend one of her open houses, you are likely to see a lot of women; moms and grandmothers, teens, neighbors and friends…some you know and see all the time, and a few you haven’t seen in a while… and all the conversations and laughter begin and that shopping buzz sets in and it’s fun!

Sometimes the purchasing can get competitive but not to worry because if you need another size or color, Phillips also does special orders. “My last open house a couple weeks ago was packed wall to wall with women approaching the holiday season picking up those special gifts and of course you have to treat yourself for the holidays too!! It’s very often a ‘one for me and one to gift’ shopping experience. What I love most is that women leave my Chic Boutique happy and often wearing their new items out the door smiling! That’s why I love what I do. I’m in a business that makes me happy and I get to make so many other women happy too! I've always loved fashion and this feeds my passion for it.”

Holmdel resident Sam Habiby says, “Chic Boutique is a local gem of a place with unique fashionable clothing and accessories priced right. Many items are made in the USA too!” Phillips is always on the hunt for the latest and most functional fashion accessories.  This season among many accessory items, Phillips has an assortment of one size fits all stretch gloves with the smart phone fingertip technology. You can see them in the video here:

Chic Boutique open houses are enjoyable social shopping experiences from start to finish for many.  Phillips' Yorkshire Terrier Snickers often greets shoppers at the door, the coffee is hot and there are both healthy and guilty pleasures to munch on, all while socializing with friends and neighbors!  Merrie Pinhas says, “I’ve recently moved to Marlboro, but I lived in Holmdel 28 years and have been shopping at Chic Boutique since Stephanie started her business and I love it! It’s my favorite place to shop for fashion. I see all of her new merchandise on Facebook and then I call and ask her to hold something until I can touch and feel and try on.  I love the personalized shopping experience and every item I buy from her is a hit and everyone asks me where I shop, and I tell them about Chic Boutique."

Phillips buys most of her items online from Los Angeles and New York City and tries to buy American made. “I enjoy finding people specific items, especially when I can find them at a bargain.  My friend wanted a faux fur coat in a department store and it retailed for $200. My client showed it to me and  I was able to find it for her and she paid $55. for it from my boutique. My prices are very fair. I like to sell fun, fashionable clothing and accessories with pricing that feels good too! Some of my regular shoppers have their husbands shop my boutique for gifts for them because they know I will guide their husbands towards that perfect gift for them, and I have a great exchange policy if they need to choose something else instead.” Holmdel resident Maryann Manning says, “Chic Boutique is the perfect place to buy things for yourself, teens, teachers and friends.  The personal shopping experience and service set it apart.  Also, my husband loves shopping at Chic Boutique because it makes Christmas shopping a breeze and sure to please.”
