HOLMDEL, N.J. - During the Holmdel Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, Superintendent Robert McGarry gave a presentation on 'Branding'. Over the last several months, there has been an effort to develop an understanding of the Holmdel Public Schools brand. Branding is, in essence, what the schools stand for in terms of image and mission and goals. 

Dr. McGarry reviewed the detailed branding analysis performed for the Holmdel school system and presented its results to the folks attending the board meeting. 

The presentation included multiple surveys and a SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats). The SWOT analysis referenced the following points:

According to McGarry, "On April 28th, a group of parents, community members, Board Members, staff members - about 40 strong - gathered for a full day, looking at all of this data, to determine really what is our brand. they looked at the functional benefit, the practical benefits and the emotional benefits."

McGarry said, "When we looked at all of the things that came together...what we found out is that our brand is really all about Innovating to Elevate". Our intention is to use those three words as we try to put out in to the world what Holmdel Schools is all about."

Residents can expect more to come in the coming months.
