NEW YORK CITY, NY: John Lennon was born October 9, 1940. The annual tradition of celebrating the birthday of John Lennon on Q104.3 FM Breakfast With The Beatles began October 7th, with The Rockit Academy performing live on air at The Cutting Room NYC. Hosts, Ken Dashow, Steven Van Zandt and Mark Rivera were entertained by New Jersey teens, all part of the Rockit Academy paying tribute to John Lennon.

Legendary  radio DJ, Ken Dashow complimented the Rockit Academy , "Bruce Gallapani has put this together. It's a non profit and its providing scholarships for live music education. I love anything that gets kids playing music with instruments and not just sampling music but creating music”.  Little Steven co-hosting the show at the Cutting Room with Mark Rivera and Ken speaks out about Rockit Academy, "These kids are about the best I've ever seen . My wife Maureen discovered Rockit and turned me on to it, my friend Richie Russo is also involved with them and said come on down and check it out. I expected the kids to be OK and you want to be encouraging, ... Kids who are actually playing  instruments these days is rare, it’s a miracle. I didn’t expect them to be this good."
