COLTS NECK, N.J. - Stayin' Alive.

This week, June 1 to June 7, is CPR and AED Awareness Week.

In 2007, the American Heart Association (AHA) in coalition with the American Red Cross and the National Safety Council worked collaboratively to designate a National CPR and AED Awareness Week federally.

On December 13, 2007, Congress unanimously passed a resolution to set aside June 1-7 each year as National CPR and AED Awareness Week to spotlight how lives can be saved if more Americans know CPR and how to use an AED.

For 2018, AHA is  debuting a new campaign that reinforces these skills but also places importance on the willingness of bystanders to act in a cardiac arrest emergency. Did you know about 70 percent of out-of-hospital cardiac arrests happen in homes? If you are called on to give CPR in an emergency, you will most likely be trying to save the life of someone you love. Be the difference for your parent, spouse, or child. What if it were them? Contact the American Heart Association to learn more or local companies that specialize in emergency health training. One such company is TEAM LIFE. TEAM LIFE is one of the most established and trusted names in emergency health training and products. TEAM LIFE offers hundreds of courses a year training both ends of the spectrum- from beginners who just want to be prepared, to emergency health care professionals that work with patients every day. Here is TEAM LIFE President and Founder Jim Schatzle:

TEAM LIFE organizes and trains emergency medical response teams in corporations, schools, and churches, and for clients in remote locations. In addition to medical training classes, the TEAM LIFE sales division offers various products. TEAM LIFE is a distributor of CARDIAC SCIENCE brand AEDs, first aid kits, emergency medical equipment, and training supplies for CPR classes.
