New Jersey has some of the toughest gun laws in the nation, but it is not enough. There is only one purpose for assault military style weapons and that is to kill people and hide from law enforcement while you do it. These weapons must be banned.
Assemblywoman DiMaso, although on the Committee for Law and Public Safety, does not take the safety of the LD13 constituents seriously, as her voting record clearly shows.
Assembly Bill 3696 "Amends Firearms Storage Regulations" requires homeowners to secure firearms in a locked box or to use a trigger lock. Bill passes overwhelmingly in the Assembly. DiMaso votes NO.
Assembly Bill 5452 "Amends Firearm Identification and Training Requirements" requires permits be valid for four years, not indefinitely, and that training in safety and storage be required to obtain the permit. Bill passes 2:1 in the Assembly. DiMaso votes NO.
Assembly Bill 5455 "Amends Ammunition Sale Regulations" requires dealers to keep electronic records of sales of firearms and ammunition. Passes in the Assembly 51-18. DiMaso votes NO.

Multiple important bills regarding gun regulations were voted on, on June 7, 2018. As reported in multiple news outlets at the time, DiMaso did not attend this voting session as she was busy at a Country Music Festival.
