HOLMDEL, NJ - A landscaping accident nearly cost a man his life at 17 Falcons Ridge Circle in Holmdel Tuesday afternoon.

According to Holmdel Police Department, at 1:35pm, Holmdel Police responded to a first aid call on Falcons Ridge Circle for a lacerated leg.  Upon arrival, Sgt. William Bernard and Ptl. John Maguire found a 52 year old male had accidently cut his leg with a saw while doing landscaping work.  The laceration was severe and was bleeding heavily due to an arterial bleed.  Sgt. Bernard and Ptl. Maguire immediately applied a tourniquet to the leg to control the bleeding and applied trauma dressings to the wound.  The Officers stopped the bleeding and Monoc Paramedics and Holmdel First Aid arrived on scene.  The victim was stabilized and immediately transported to Jersey Shore Medical Center.
