HOLMDEL, NJ: On Sunday morning at the iconic Bell Works property in Holmdel , a sign of love was created in celebration of Holmdel High School's Class of 2020! It was a show your love tribute to the senior graduating class, from Holmdel’s senior moms, and the town's First Responders. They teamed up to spread the community's love for Holmdel’s Class of 2020!
A gigantic Holmdel blue, square shaped sign with the words "WE ❤️ OUR 2020 SENIOR HORNETS" was laid on the lawn of Bell Works, centered with the backdrop of the historical transistor shaped water tower. Holmdel, police, fire and first aid took to the great lawn, and with their vehicles created a powerful image of support for the Holmdel senior class, forming a perfect heart around the banner. Because of the social distancing in place, the 2020 class is missing out on so many traditional celebratory events. The heart around the banner message was symbolic of the love and support from the community of Holmdel!
The photos and aerial video from the event send a virtual hug and celebratory noise to seniors and their families via multiple social media channels including those provided by Holmdel High School. So share to your social media and leave a special message! Superintendent Dr. Robert McGarry and Holmdel High School Principal Brian Schillaci were on site to support the event.
One of the senior moms on the scene, Margo Vallone commented, “Our hearts break for these kids who have worked so hard to reach this moment in time only to have it be so flat and isolating. We wanted to put some wind back in their sails with a giant hug as only a mom and a community like ours could do!”
Senior parents give a special shout out of thanks to Eric Hernando, Holmdel’s Emergency Management Coordinator, who led the on ground effort and drone photography, and to Holmdel's wonderful team of First Responders, who always look to support the Holmdel community through the good and the bad times!
