HOLMDEL, N.J. - It was a bitterly cold day on Veteran's Day 2017. However, the warmth of deserved recognition broke through as Holmdel Township honored all Veterans who served the USA - those who are still with us and those who have gone before us.

The location was Holmdel's Veteran's Memorial Park, which was preserved as such by a prior Township Committee. This location was used for military housing in the past and was part of the Nations Nike Missile defense system system. More on that can be found here:

The Raising of the Colors:



The Colonel Elizabeth W. Prekker, US Army, who graduated Holmdel High School Class of 1984, was the featured speaker, according to the program. Col. Prekker is a Senior Logistics Officer who has held key logistics billets through the strategic, Multi-National and Inter-Agency Levels. Her current position is te Division Chief for Quality Assurance within the Training Development Integration Directorate at the Combined Arms Support Command (CASCOM) at Ft. Lee, Va. Her awards and decorations are numerous and include the Bronze Star.
