HOLMDEL, NJ: Girl Scout Troop 60363 is collecting new and gently used backpacks and school supplies to benefit the Mercy Center of Asbury Park. The Mercy Center provides education and emergency services for community members and serves thousands each year. The donated backpacks and school supplies will go directly to help underprivileged teens and pre-teens in Monmouth County.
If you have a student in Holmdel Schools you can conveniently bring your donations to place in one of the collection bins set up inside all Holmdel District Schools; Village Elementary, Indian Hill, WR. Satz and Holmdel High School. The collection is currently going on and will continue through June 13th, the last day of school for Holmdel.
If you would like to donate back packs and school supplies and you do not have a student in Holmdel Schools, you can conveniently drop off your donations for the Mercy Center school supplies and backpack drive to Painting With a Twist in Holmdel, located in the Courtyard area (near Flynn and O'Hare) in the Kohls Plaza in Holmdel. Click here to check store hours.
School supplies are needed such as pens, pencils, markers, erasers, calculators, crayons, scissors, and folders. Through this collection, the Girl Scouts are learning the importance of connecting to the community and the joy it brings to help others through this project.
Students can help collect from others and dropping off items in bins located near the main offices of Village, Indian Hill, Satz, or Holmdel High School. The coordinator can be reached by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
