HOLMDEL, N.J. - Bell Works in Holmdel has become synonymous with bleeding edge technology, innovation, advancement and collaboration. There is another word that describes the Metroburb - 'tradition'. The tradition of the timeless Eero Saarinen design of the original Bell Labs Building, now Bell Works, coupled with the traditional values of one of its newest tenants, The Guardian Life Insurance Company.  The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America® (Guardian), one of the nation’s largest mutual life insurers and a leading provider of employee benefits, on April 19th, celebrated the opening of its new technology hub at Bell Works, where over 300 Guardian employees have been relocated. A festive event was held in the futuristic 90,000 square feet glass enclosed new Guardian office space.  Guests included federal and local government officials, company executives and employees.   Guardian's President and CEO, Deanna Mulligan addressed the crowd beginning with, "This is obviously a great day for Guardian..." See video here:

Giving back to the community Guardian awarded a $25,000 grant to a local nonprofit;  Monmouth Conservation Foundation (MCF).  Founded 41 years ago, among many great efforts, MCF is dedicated to creating parks, saving open space, preserving farmland, safeguarding waterways and protecting wildlife.

Bill Kastning, Executive Director of Monmouth Conservation Foundation, said, "We are especially pleased to have received the donation of $25,000 from Guardian Life. It is particularly meaningful, as the Foundation, Monmouth County’s only land trust, is the guardian of county and municipal parks, open space, farmland, waterways and wildlife for 41 years and counting! We welcome Guardian Life to Holmdel and look forward developing a long lasting partnership as guardians of the the county’s future."

This grand opening celebration event did not include the typical ribbon cutting ceremony, but rather an impressive large banner rollout from the upper level of Bell Works where Guardian is located.  There were Holmdel Chamber of Commerce Members present for the banner ceremony.  See video here of banner rollout in celebration of Guardian new office space:

The event culminated with guests invited back to the open kitchen area within the Guardian office space for  a chance to mingle and enjoy a delicious and unique spread of catered foods by Bell Market and RBC Hospitality.  Guardian's space within Bell Works provides employees with open and bright workplace elements as well as very modern facilities to innovate and collaborate. The new office space features audio/visual-enabled huddle spaces, conference rooms, equipped with video teleconferencing capabilities, new space reservation system to allow for shared workspaces, a Tech bar, a grab-and-go lounge and pantries on every floor. In addition, employees have access to the following Bell Works amenities: conference center and auditorium, public pedestrian esplanade, lined with shops, cafes, restaurants, cultural exhibits; fitness facility, public library and an outdoor “green” roof deck.
