First annual community event draws more than 800 attendees

TINTON FALLS - The night before Halloween, hundreds of dinosaurs, aliens, and superheros flooded into a parking lot in Tinton Falls, joined by legions of princes and princesses, ninjas, Pokemon, and vampires. The reason: the first annual Monmouth County Community Trunk-or-Treat, hosted by State Senator Vin Gopal in partnership with Commvault, a local data security company.

“We weren’t expecting anywhere near this much turnout, and we were floored to see so many kids and parents enjoying themselves trick-or-treating,” said Gopal, who represents Tinton Falls and its surrounding towns in the State Senate. “For me, Halloween has always been a time for fun, friendship, and creativity. I wanted to make sure that as many kids as possible in Monmouth County had a chance to join their friends, show off their costumes, and trick-or-treat in a safe and welcoming environment.”

Businesses, nonprofits, and community organizations alike set up tables for the event, filling trunks with sugary snacks and healthy goodies for trick-or-treaters to enjoy.

“From the local PBA to Playa Bowls, Dunkin’ Donuts, and CentraState, everyone pitched in to make sure that our trick-or-treaters had the best Halloween they could,” Gopal said. “I’m so grateful to everyone who came out to make this possible, and I’m already excited to see how much better we can make this community Trunk-or-Treat next year.”

“It was an absolute joy to welcome so many families to our beautiful campus at Commvault for this year’s Trunk-or-Treat celebration,” said Jesper Helt, Chief Human Resources Officer, Commvault. “We pride ourselves on our community inside our four walls, as well as the one we’ve lived in and had an active part of for more than 20 years.

“Together with Senator Vin Gopal and all our participating vendors, we were able to enjoy a bit of spook and drizzle a day early with incredibly creative displays and plenty of candy for everyone to take home. We were honored to be part of this ‘spooktacular’ event and look forward to doing it again next year!”

Senator Vin Gopal represents New Jersey’s 11th Legislative District in the State Senate, where he works to make the Garden State more affordable for its hard-working residents.
