HOLMDEL, NJ - The Holmdel Township Board of Education reorganized at 8 PM at the William R. Satz School.
Board Secretary Michael Petrizzo began the meeting. The first order of business was the swearing in of newly elected members. After the salute to the flag, a special moment of silence was held for a former student who recently passed away, Alexander Ching.
Assemblywoman Serena DiMaso recited an oath of office to both Victoria Flynn and Brian Foster, who stood side by side to be sworn in to their three year terms.
New Jersey Superior Court Judge Joseph Oxley then swore in newly reelected board member Terence Wall to a full three year term of office. He won an unexpired term last year and won the full term this November.
After the swearing-in, the Board of Education took nominations for the positions of President and Vice President.
The nomination for President was Victoria Flynn and there were no other nominations made. The vote was carried unanimously.
There were two nominations made for Vice President. The first was for Eileen Briamonte. A nomination was also made by Peter Reddy who nominated Mike Sockol. He referenced his eight year tenure and experience as the rationale. The vote resulted in a split decision with Eileen Briamonte eeking out a victory.
The newly organized board then completed their agenda with no presentations, no other reports and adjourned for the evening.
