HOLMDEL, NJ - The local election in Holmdel is heating up, based on the recent candidate discussion. The zoom meeting was hosted by Citizens for Informed Land Use.
CILU has been in existence for over 20 years and generally focuses on land use issues in town. In recent years they have become more politically active. In this instance, by all accounts, they ran a professional platform that offered the local candidates for office an ample opportunity to share their views.
The candidates included the two Republicans who share the ticket with President Trump, Board of Education President Vicky Flynn and local businessman DJ Luccarelli. On the other side in the primary are the 'We the People' Republican ticket of Committeeman Greg Buontempo and newcomer Ron Emma.
The conversation was generally civil with all candidates until the end when newcomer Ron Emma was called out by the moderators for attacking Vicky Flynn. All in all, however, CILU kept the meeting uptempo and informative for all who want to stay engaged in local government. The absentee ballots are in the mailboxes of Holmdel residents and the voting has begun! Watch the video in its entirety here:
