HAZLET, NJ: The stars aligned just so and... A great public and private partnership that is designed to bring the best of both worlds to hundreds of children in Hazlet, Middletown and much of the Bayshore area was created! Hazlet Township is pleased to announce the return of summer camp and the reopening of the Hazlet Swim & Tennis Club!  It took careful planning by two caring individuals; Camp Coconuts owner Deana Valente and Hazlet Mayor Michael Glackin.

Both Valente and Glackin were faced with a dilemma. Hazlet has the need to provide summer camp programming with proper CDC guidelines in place. Camp Coconuts was looking for a better location to host their summer camps and their robust programming. They worked out a deal that will benefit the children of Hazlet and the enrolled Camp Coconuts families.  The new partnership will provide a fun-packed summer camp with swimming lessons beginning July 6. Hazlet children will be offered a reduced rate.

“This is a win-win for both Hazlet Township and Camp Coconuts,” said Hazlet Mayor Michael Glackin. “Camp Coconuts is an experienced summer camp operator with an established staff dedicated to giving kids the quintessential summer experience. Camp Coconuts is prepared to run a summer day camp under the CDC guidelines for COVID-19."

Information about camp signups and for swim club members will be formally released in coming days. Stay tuned for details! https://www.hazlettwp.org/CivicAlerts.aspx?AID=202
