RED BANK, NJ: Across from the railroad station is one of Red Bank's most iconic buildings, and it's getting a beautiful makeover. Soon a new Sickles Market will open there!
The old Anderson Moving and Storage building has received a striking cedar wood-planked exterior. Excellent "lines" and the cedar works very nicely with the original brick. Big windows surround the building that offers views of the river, the railroad bridge and Red Bank's west side. Back in 2006, Red Bank developer Metrovation purchased the building and began renovations on the 45,000 square foot, four-story building for a mix of retail offices and restaurants. Plenty of Parking!
The anchor tenant will be Sickles Market, a well-know landmark in Little Silver and will occupy the ground floor. There will be something for everyone: a specialty gourmet food store, that includes locally-sourced items, meat, fish and floral departments.
Andrea G. of Middletown comments, "I am so excited that I can now drive five minutes from where I live in Middltown, and be able to shop at one of my favorite stores. We love Sickles. Their produce is the freshest and they always have that perfect gift!"
In addition, Booskeroo Coffee Company will have a coffee and espresso kiosk within the Sickles market and be accompanied by a deli serving prepared foods, seafood, plus a butcher cutting fresh meats.
And don’t forget the fresh cut flowers!
For the right libation to go with your food purchase, you can peruse the “Bottles by Bob” liquor store.
And Sickles Market will be good for the local economy - the store will add 55 jobs to Sickles' staff of 165.
“Amazing things are happening in Red Bank and we couldn’t be more excited to be a part of it all. It’s been a dream of mine for 20 years to combine a farmer’s market with a more urban gourmet grocery concept. My hope is that veteran customers will enjoy Sickles in Red Bank as well as many newcomers. Our mission as always is to share unique, quality items that you just can’t get everywhere else. My family and I are beyond excited to share what we love with Red Bank,” said Bob Sickles.
Can’t beat the location. The westside of Red Bank is really happening with many new stores and restaurants opening up, plus with the train station across the street, commuters will add a vibrancy not seen in years.
James Scavone, Executive Director of the Red Bank RiverCenter said, “We’re thrilled that Sickles has chosen to expand into Red Bank. Their opening in the Anderson Building will cement the revitalization of that section of town. We’ve seen tremendous growth on the west side of downtown over recent years, but Sickles and the renovation of the Anderson Building in general are going to be the game changer. I believe we will see that area really explode once Sickles opens.”
