THE WOMAN’S CLUB OF COLTS NECK IS WORKING TO RAISE $124,000 TO HELP MAKE THIS WISH A REALITY-Let's do it!!

COLTS NECK, NJ: There is a powerful group of women who make up The Woman's Club of Colts Neck. When they see a need, their first response is, How can we help?"  Together they quietly do big things, often helping people they may never meet. For example, their annual project to send stockings stuffed with love to our troops overseas every Christmas season.

They are the women who show up at community events, roll up their sleeves and with a smile, pitch in wherever they are needed. They make breakfast for our Veterans, they support many charitable organizations, like CASA and Collier Youth Services. They make a positive difference every day somehow, in the lives of others.

Now they are on to something big! It will bring so much joy to those who give and those who will be on the receiving end. We can all help them bring countless smiles and laughter to children's faces we may never meet. TOGETHER WE CAN DO SOMETHING GREAT!

Through their support of Collier Youth Services, it was brought to their attention that the Kateri Camp on the Collier property provided a wonderful summer camp experience with robust programs and activities, swimming lessons and more. However, something is missing that would bring even more joy for hundreds of children! That is an inclusive playground!  Every summer, 250 children are bused in from some of the most underprivileged neighborhoods in Monmouth County to run in the fields, breathe in the fresh air, and swim in the pool at Collier. They are brought into a joyful, magical summer camp experience, where they are provided with nourishment for their body and soul. They are loved, and they love Kateri Camp. Many come back year after year and then many when they age out at 13 become Kateri Camp Counselors.

Kateri Day Camp, a program of Collier Youth Services has been in operation for 44 summers, and for each of those summers, more than 200 children, ages 5-13, have had the joy of going to camp. These Day Campers come from 28 Monmouth County towns, 51% of whom qualify for financial assistance, 96% qualify for free or reduced lunch, and 55% of the campers have some type of disability.  An “INCLUSIVE PLAYGROUND is a much-needed addition to the Kateri Day Camp program, giving every child of all abilities, the pleasure of knowing what it is like to sit on a swing and daydream, to slide, climb the ropes, and jump from one place to another.

TOGETHER WE CAN GREATLY ENHANCE THEIR JOY OF BEING CHILDREN!

The playground project proposed is a modest 3,100 sq. ft. but can be extended.  Estimated cost is $124,000 and is broken down below:

  • The playground’s Rubber Bond floor $54,250 (this includes the install of 2”stone base and Playsafer Rubber Curbing is $5,000.)

The equipment cost is as follows:
