Holmdel's Mayor: Thomas Critelli is Voted in as Mayor for 2018

HOLMDEL, N.J. - Holmdel Township kicked off 2018  with the election of Thomas Critelli as the Mayor for 2018. The Deputy Mayor elected by the Township Committee is Rocco Pascucci who is making a return engagement on the governing body.

"I  look forward to serving as Mayor this year. It's truly an exciting time in the township. As a member of the Township Committee for the past five years we had major accomplishments (such as)
bringing Bell Works back to life, stabilizing property taxes, controlling municipal expenses, expanding recreation activities for our senior citizens, aggressively rebuilding our roads and opening our new library and learning center last month" said Critelli. "We will continue to improve things and move Holmdel forward."

Critelli listed various goals for 2018 including:

Working with the Board of Education and recreation groups to make improvements. 

Improvements to communications for emergency services

Continue paving programs

Working to preserve more open space

During the reorganization meeting many different professional appointments were made as well as various liaison appointments, Planning Board, Zoning Board and other committees. In a major announcement, long time Municipal Clerk Maureen Doloughty announced she would be retiring in the near future. She has been part and parcel of the Holmdel Township Committee for many years and has a legacy of accomplishments. Professionally, she has been very active in the Municipal Clerk's Association and is highly regarded by her peers in Monmouth County and the State of New Jersey. A partial list of appointments made at the reorganization are as follows:

Maser Engineering as Consulting Engineers

Robert Oliwa as Auditor

Steven Zabarksy as Prosecutor

Raymond Raya as Public Defender

William Antonides as Registered Municipal Accountant

Declan O'Scanlon as Cell Tower Consultant

Fran Mullan as Engineer of Record from T&M Associates

Michael Collins as Township Attorney
