BELMAR, NJ — Belmar seasonal beach badges for 2021 are now available to purchase online.
Cost per badge remains at $70 for persons age 16 to 64 and $30 for seniors age 65 and over. However, this year there is a processing fee for each purchase — $2 for a regular badge and $1 for a senior badge — as well as credit card processing fees, depending on the type and number of badges purchased, and a flat $10 shipping charge.
Free beach access will be provided to persons under age 16, as well as all veterans, active military members and their dependents and Gold Star family members — with proper identification upon entry to the beach. No discount will be given to disabled individuals, as was allowed in past years.
There are three ways to utilize the borough’s new contactless method to purchase badges by phone, tablet or desktop:
- Visit belmarbeachbadges.com.
- Scan the QR code in the graphic above.
- Text with word “badges” to 44622.
Once purchased, badges can be shipped or picked up at the Belmar Municipal Building, 601 Main Street, Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., using the Sixth Avenue entrance.
However, all seniors are required to pick up their badges in person with a valid government identification showing proof of age.
While in-person purchases of seasonal badges will be available early next season at Taylor Pavilion, located at 500 Ocean Avenue, borough officials are highly recommending that the new contactless method be used.
In addition, advance sales of $9 daily badges will begin in mid-May through contactless purchase. There also will be same-day sales at ticket booths along the beachfront once the season opens. Provisions will be made for cash and check sales at that time as well, according to the borough.
Badges are required for entry to Belmar’s 1.3-mile beachfront from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
