MIDDLETOWN, NJ:  The all-volunteer Middletown Fire Department has been recognized as the largest all-volunteer Fire Department in the world. The Fire Department includes 11 fire companies. Training is provided at the Middletown Fire Academy.

On Saturday, December 7th, Hundreds of Middletown's volunteer firefighters along with friends, family, and members of the Township Committee attended the 2020 Fire Chiefs Election at Navesink Hook and Ladder Company No. 1. It was an event to celebrated service and give thanks. 

Congratulations to newly-elected Fire Chief Russell Mount III, Deputy Chief John Friedmann, First Assistant Chief Bernie Chenoweth, Second Assistant Chief John Waltz and Third Assistant Chief William Kane Jr. on their appointments. Special thanks went out to 2019 Fire Chief Steven Schweizer for his strong leadership and dedication this past year.
