HOLMDEL, NJ - Anyone who knows baseball over the years knows Dwight Gooden. Gooden pitched the Mets to the World Series Championships in 1986. He played for the Yankees and Cleveland Indians as well.

On June 7 he was driving in Holmdel and caught the attention of a player on a different team. It was a police officer on The Holmdel Township Police Department. Ultimately, he was charged with posession of drug paraphernalia in the form of "two small green zip lock style plastic baggies containing suspected cocaine."

He was also charged with being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance for the purpose other than the treatment of an illness. It is a disorderly persons offense. His court date is July 23rd.
