HOLMDEL, NJ:  Saint Catharine's Catholic Youth Group (CYG) is always up to something fun and community service related.  The annual pasta dinner on a recent Saturday evening was no exception.  As Saturday evening mass was being celebrated, most of the congregation could smell the sauce and meatballs cooking up. Immediately following mass, guests packed the Fr. Sheg Center, which had been transformed by the CYG into a tropical paradise for the Disney Moana theme.

The Catholic Youth Group teens had decorated the room with palm trees and Moana themed centerpieces with balloons.  Pastor Monsignor Vaughan gave the blessing of the food and it was time to eat!  The teens took everyone's food orders and were busy throughout the evening serving everyone and clearing tables. It was a smoothly ran event with many of Saint Catharine's dedicated adult volunteers working the kitchen.  See VIDEO of the exciting and well attended event here:

Youth Director Kathy McBurnie commented, "Tonight's event was a great example of our wonderful teen and adult volunteers in action. We had a great turnout and we are so thankful to everyone who worked as a team to make it happen.  It's wonderful when the community comes together to share a meal.".

The evening included DJ entertainment and dancing, pictures with Princess Moana, and the children were able to all take turns hitting the pinata which the teens had heavily stuffed with candy.

A great time was had by all!
