COLTS NECK, NJ: No one would ever accuse the Colts Neck Seniors of being “fearful”! We braved all the poor weather forecasts for Wednesday, October 30, and had a wonderful time on the Navesink Queen, which is a beautiful, newly commissioned paddle wheel boat.
After a pleasant bus ride from Town Hall to the Atlantic Highlands, we boarded the boat in the Big Marina and set sail for a fascinating 3 hour-tour, with a narration of the magnificent mansions along the river. It was also interesting to see the seaside bungalows, historic Twin Lights, Hartshorne Woods and Atlantic Highland Hills.
After this lovely tour, we returned to the bus to travel to Salt Creek Grille in Rumson, where we were treated to a private dining room along the waterfront. (It surely was our day to enjoy water!!) The dinner buffet was so delicious – from two kinds of salad to salmon, chicken, a carving station, two sides and of course, dessert and beverages.
If you are a Colts Neck resident who has reached the age of 55, you too can enjoy outings such as this. For membership information, call President Jack Coppola at 732-933-0720.
