EATONTOWN, N.J. – The Social Community Activities Network (SCAN) hosted the "Engage at Every Age"  Senior Expo & Fashion show on May 11, at Monmouth Mall. It was quite a success with interested guests, talented models and fashion trends on display.

May is national Older Americans Month and their theme for this year is “Engage at Every Age”, which emphasizes that you are never too old (or too young) to take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental and emotional well-being. Older Americans Month celebrates the many ways older adults make a difference in our communities.

The Senior Expo & Fashion Show included numerous vendors providing relevant information on wellness, healthcare, technology and many other subjects of interest to today’s active adults. Comfort Keepers and Preferred Care, among others, were in attendance. A highlight of the event was the Fashion Show in coordination with Macy’s; all of our mature adult models get to model the latest Macy’s fashions. SCAN’s “Engage At Every Age” Senior Expo & Fashion show is a perfect opportunity to engage and celebrate what getting older looks like today. SCAN Program Coordinator Marybeth Kwapniewski commented, "It was a pleasure working with all the models and witnessing the excitement on their faces as they walked the runway and had mini bios read by the event emcees. It was so inspiring and that's what SCAN does best. We inspire, empower and educate! "

According to SCAN, "Participating in activities that promote mental and physical wellness, offering your wisdom and experience to the next generation, seeking the mentorship of someone with more life experience than you—those are just a few examples of what being engaged can mean. No matter where you are in your life, there is no better time than now to start. SCAN hopes you will join in and Engage at Every Age!"
