The Holmdel Boys U19 NJX Madrid team finished the spring season winning the USYS National League U19 title and the U19 NJ Cup Super Group State Championship.

Even more impressive this group of boys finished with a final ranking of #1 in NJ, #1 in the Region and #1 in the Country for the U19 age group.  Coach Eric Hinds had the pleasure of coaching many of this core group of boys for the past 13 years.  He attributes the success of the team to keeping most of the boys together through out their youth.  In the spring of 2019, Coach Eric collaborated with Coach Jim Sintic from the Ocean travel team to combine forces to create what ultimately was a winning formula.  Coach Collin Schmetzer was able to take this group of boys who were once fierce rivals and mold them into one incredible team. For both of these coaches, it was a bittersweet end to many years of working with these fine young men. It was a memorable last season during one incredible soccer journey.  In total, 13 players are going onto play at the college level.  Best of luck to this very talented group who have a bright future both on and off the soccer pitch!
