HOPATCONG, NJ - Motivational speaker Duane West spoke to students by presenting an assembly on Oct. 3 at Durban Avenue School.

West told the students that they are "Bound For Greatness." Lewis Benfatti, principal of Durban Avenue School, planned the assembly to kick off the Week of Respect, a statewide initiative to promote anti-bullying messages.

Across the state, public schools observed the Week of Respect beginning Oct. 7-11. Public schools taught about preventing harassment, intimidation and bullying. The state's anti-bullying law requires public schools have anti-bullying policies in place.
