Hopatcong Football Team on 3-Game Winning Streak


HOPATCONG, NJ - The Hopatcong varsity football team extended its winning streak to three with a 26-7 victory over Kinnelon on Friday night.

Johann Lara scored two touchdowns on a punt return and a 25-yard run and Thomas Rieg carried 21 times for 133 yards and a TD in the victory, which boosted Hopatcong's record to 4-2.

Lara rushed for 80 yards on 14 carries. Hopatcong took a 13-0 lead in the second quarter on a 33-yard TD run by Shea Bongiovanni.

On defense, both Lara and Victor Cotto came up with interceptions.
