JERSEY CITY, NJ - A white Pomeranian dog stuck at the bottom of an escalator at the Journal Square PATH station got help from Port Authority police officers and members of the Emergency Service Unit on Wednesday. After hearing the dog yelping and finding its paw caught, officers jumped into action and stopped the moving steps before disassembling part of the mechanism and making the rescue.

The dog, Scott, was freed and the officers were able to secure a taxi so that the dog could be transported to an animal hospital to be examined.
