LIBERTY ISLAND, NY - Although technically in New Jersey, the Statue of Liberty reopened this week as part of the New York City phase 4 effort to emerge from COVID-19 induced closures.

Visitors will not be allowed inside the monument but can access the grounds of the island. Ellis Island will remain closed as will the museums on both islands.

There will be limited food and gift shop services on Liberty Island and access to outdoor spaces and will follow federal, state and local public health guidance. Advance ticketing reservations are encouraged to avoid ticket lines in Battery Park, New York or Liberty State Park, New Jersey.
