JERSEY CITY, NJ - A teacher at McNair Academic High School has been suspended with pay after an on-line petition raised allegations of inappropriate behavior and sexual misconduct with students.
“I cannot comment on personnel matters, but an investigation is ongoing,” said School Board President Lorenzo Richardson when contacted by TAPinto Jersey City about the matter.
Schools Superintendent Franklin Walker called for the investigation after being presented with an on-line petition with more than 3,000 signatures.
The allegation, according to other school officials, may go back as far as 2012.
The name of the teacher is being withheld since no criminal charges have been filed.
