CRANFORD, NJ - A&B Promotions, a custom apparel and promotional company located in Cranford, recently launched a fundraiser in an effort to purchase much needed medical supplies to donate to healthcare workers and hospitals in need.
After creating a COVID-19 awareness ribbon that supports the healthcare industry, the “Stronger than the Virus” campaign quickly sparked interest on social media outlets, garnering over 200 shares across five different states in just 24 hours.
“Although our business came to somewhat of a complete standstill, we couldn’t just sit at home and not do anything, “said Ashley Wohlrab, co-owner of A&B Promotions. “We were restless. These healthcare workers are our friends, our family, and the frontline heroes of this pandemic. We had to help. We have already begun buying masks from our manufacturers, and once the community caught wind, they were eager to help. The least we could do is take advantage of our resources and donate as many supplies as possible.”
“From simply posting the awareness ribbon, the amount of support was so overwhelming; we knew we could do more,” continued Wohlrab.
Wohlrab called her co-owner, James Baker, to figure out how they could help on a grander scale, ultimately leading to the selling of promotional items: t-shirts, badge reels, and car magnets.
As a result, and after much back and forth with their suppliers, the two realized they could do even more. A&B Promotions has now started a GoFundMe account to raise additional funds in order to help those in need as much as possible.
“We are just trying to do our part to support those sacrificing their time, well-being and safety in this time of great need,” Wohlrab said.
