JERSEY CITY, NJ - With nearly 8,000 confirmed cases, and as Hudson County surpasses Essex to become the second-most impacted county in New Jersey (behind Bergen County), officials are making appeals for blood donations specifically from anyone who has recovered from COVID-19.

“As a city we know there are people that are healing from this virus and want to help,” said Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, via Twitter. “We have an opportunity with our partners at American Red Cross and Christ Hospital to increase our volume of plasma for critically ill patients.”

Anyone who has been diagnosed COVID-19 positive and has been symptom-free for 14 days is asked to call Christ Hospital at 201-795-8298 or email
