JERSEY CITY, NJ -A 78-year-old Jersey City man has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Armando Campos-Perez who was killed in a fatal hit-and-run Palisade Avenue near Christ Hospital earlier this year.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suares, Beato Sepulveda was arrested and charged shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Prosecutor’s Office in Jersey City. He was charged with Knowingly Leaving the Scene of a Motor Vehicle Collision Causing Death and Endangering an Injured Victim.

The charges stem from an incident that took place just after 1:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 following which members of the Jersey City Police Department and the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit responded to Palisade Avenue between Jefferson Avenue and Waverly Street on a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.
