JERSEY CITY, NJ - A Jersey City man has been arrested and charged in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Francis Villa on August 31.

As previously reported, Villa was found with a fatal gunshot wound in a Forrest Street apartment by members of the Jersey City Police Department who responded to the scene just before 6:00 p.m. the day of the incident and found Villa’s lifeless body with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez, Jaishawn Gaston, 26, was arrested at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, after he turned himself in with his attorney. Gaston has been charged with Murder, Possession of a Weapon, for an Unlawful Purpose, and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.
