JERSEY CITY, NJ - The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit has brought charges against three individuals in connection with the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Tyeah Garner. As previously reported, Garner was gunned down in the area of Rutgers Avenue at approximately 10:30 p.m. on July 6

According to Prosecutor Esther Suarez, charged are Heavenly Cherry, 19; Jahquell Carter, 24, and Izmae Tinker-Trent, 19.

Cherry, currently being detained at the Bergen County Youth Detention Center on an unrelated matter, has been charged with, among other crimes, Murder, while Carter, who is still at large, faces a number of charges, the most serious of which is Murder as an Accomplice. Tinker-Trent, who is scheduled to make her first court appearance Tuesday, has been charged with Hindering a Murder Investigation.

Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department for the investigation and arrest.
