JERSEY CITY, NJ -Two Jersey men have been arrested in connection with a shooting that led to the death of 17-year-old Stephanie Jacques, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced Wednesday.

According to Suarez the men Darby Shirden and Shaquan Rush, both 20 and Jersey City residents have both been charged with Murder, Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon (firearm) for an Unlawful Purpose and other crimes.

Shirden was arrested just after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday at 116 Old Bergen Road while Rush was arrested at 17 Bayside Place just after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday.

As previously reported, Jacques was one of two teens shot at approximately 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 1 in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Forrest Street. Both victims were transported to Jersey City Medical Center where they were treated and released. Jacques was re-transported to the Jersey City Medical Center the following morning where she was pronounced dead at 10:57 a.m.
