JERSEY CITY, NJ - A 17-year-old Jersey City girl died Thursday after being shot Wednesday night, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.
According to the report the victim was one of two victims shot just before 8:00 p.m. in the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Forrest Street. Upon arrival at the scene members of the Jersey City Police Department found an 18-year-old man who had been shot in the lower body. The man was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center where he was treated.
The female victim was located on the corner of Martin Luther King Drive and Oak Street, also with a gunshot wound to her lower body, and was also transported to the Jersey City Medical Center where she was treated and released. The victim was transported back to the Jersey City Medical Center Thursday morning and pronounced dead at 10:57 a.m.
The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
On Tuesday a 25-year-old Jersey City man was shot and killed in the area of Cator Avenue and Rose Avenue.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case. No arrests have been made at this time.
