JERSEY CITY, NJ - An investigation is underway into an overnight shooting that left a Jersey City man dead and four others injured, according to Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez.
In a statement, Suarez reported that members of the Jersey City Police Department were called to the area of Union Street, between Martin Luther King Drive and Ocean Avenue at approximately 12:20 a.m. on a report of shots fired.
Upon arrival, responding officers found multiple shooting victims. One of the men, later identified as Scott Colclough, Jersey City, was found with multiple gunshot wounds. Colclough was transported by Emergency Medical Services to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:37 a.m.
Four other victims were found in the area with various gunshot wounds and transported by EMS to Jersey City Medical Center where they received treatment for their injuries.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case. No arrests have been made at this time.
