To the Editor,

While some candidates are touting their “non-partisan” status, that is nothing more than a wolf in sheep's clothing.  What matters most is electing people who stand up for ALL residents. Chris Burdick for Bedford Town Supervisor,Ellen Calves and Bobbi Bittker for Bedford Town Board, and Kitley Covill for County Legislator are the choices to assure the quality of life and inclusive values that matter to so many here in Bedford.

Ellen Calves has worked tirelessly to make Bedford greener through her work with Bedford 2020.  She is thoughtful, caring, and comprehensive. I have seen her time and again seek out information from all sides, considering all positions to come to decisions that will have the greatest impact for the most people.  It is this thoughtfulness and measured deliberation that will make Ellen a superb Councilwoman.

Bobbi Bittker will go to the mat to fight injustices and to ensure fairness. She believes that everyone deserves a fighting chance to be a positive contributor to our community.  Bobbi is not afraid to take on challenges, and will not give up until she can find the best solution; whether it’s advocating for affordable housing or revitalizing key business districts such as Bedford Hills, Bobbi will be there to improve the lives for all residents in the Town.

Since her election, Kitley Covill has proven herself to be the hardest working County Legislator there is!  She stands up for inclusive values while advocating for local businesses’ needs; she knows how to balance multiple needs while bringing positive changes; she gets out, listens, and takes action!  Kitley deserves strong support in her re-election bid.

These candidates - along with Town Supervisor Chris Burdick -  will work to continue to improve the quality of life for all residents in Bedford, and I urge you to cast your vote for them on November 5.
