Pasquale Carrozza

Pasquale Carrozza, of Katonah, passed away peacefully at his home with his loving family by his side on Aug. 1. He was 91. He was married to the love of his life, Jean (Bueti) Carrozza, for 64 years, and was the son of the late Annunziato and Angela Carrozza.

Pasquale was born in the village of Solano Reggio di Calabria, Calabria Italy in 1930. He emigrated to America at the age of 17, settling in Mount Kisco. Pasquale was an accomplished carpenter and entrepreneur. Partnering with his cousins, he co-founded Carbut Building Corporation, and built a number of custom homes in Chappaqua and Mount Kisco over three decades. Pasquale was fluent in Italian, English, French, and Spanish. He was an avid reader and had an insatiable appetite for knowledge. He enjoyed historical non-fiction and biographies. He also took pleasure in watching the Yankees, playing cards with his friends, and completing daily crosswords.

In addition to his successful career, Pasquale was a founding member of the Solano, Italian American Social Club where he enjoyed gathering with friends and relatives.

Pasquale will be remembered for his utmost integrity and character and was trusted by all that knew him. He was a peaceful man who was known for his generosity and willingness to help those in need. He assisted many of those who immigrated from Italy gain a foothold in the U.S. and establish many successful businesses in the Westchester area. He always put others first and cared deeply about the community and the state of world events. He embodied an incredible sense of family.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to his wife, Jean, Pasquale is survived by six sons: Nunzio and wife Betsy, Dominic and wife Linh, Pasquale and wife Deneane, John and wife Elizabeth, Joseph and wife Lisa, and Anthony and wife Kimberly; and 16 grandchildren: Gina, Alissa, Michael, Isabella, Angela, Matthew, Julia, John P., Daniel, Joseph, Nicholas, John L., Natalie, Victoria, Alex, and Andrew. He is also predeceased by his sister, Jean, and her husband, Carmen Carrozza.

The family would like to send a special thanks to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Mt. Sinai Medical Center and Northern Westchester Hospital for the wonderful care provided to Pasquale over the years.

A visitation will be held at the Cassidy Flynn Funeral Home 228 East Main St. Mt. Kisco NY on Thursday, Aug. 5, from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday, Aug 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 2 Green St., Mount Kisco, on Saturday, Aug. 7, at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Francis Cemetery, 236 Lexington Ave., Mount Kisco.
