BEDFORD, N.Y. - Many are still without power in Bedford today, April 14, after powerful wind and rain storms yesterday.
Supervisor Chris Burdick said there are about 1,022 who still don't have electricity.
Here's his full update:
Crews are in place working on a major circuit in Bedford Hills and another circuit in Katonah. Additional crews are coming in from Connecticut. I just spoke with Carl Taylor (NYSEG president) who said that they are placing very high priority on getting service restored today if at all possible. Please note that in order to restore power to a portion of a major circuit, power will be cut for one of the NYSEG circuits at about 10:15 AM and be off for a short period of time. Working on getting dry ice for this afternoon, but hope to have the power back on by then.
Con Edison: The number of customers without power has decreased to 178. Crew working to clear another 101 and then move onto the remaing.
Please be safe staying away from downed lines.
